Shawn Kimble

Shawn Kimble is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Shawn is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. & European Capital Markets and Business Strategy, responsible for all capital markets, engineering, insurance risk management and valuation activities for debt and equity investments across the U.S. and Europe. He is a member of the Investment Committees for U.S. Debt, Equity and Affordable Housing and serves as a member of the Valuation Committees for U.S. Debt and Equity. Prior to his current role, Shawn was Head of U.S. Real Estate Capital Markets, responsible for asset financings, fund leverage, syndications and derivatives for equity and debt. Shawn was also previously an acquisitions officer responsible for sourcing and executing real estate equity investments and joint venture developments in the eastern region of the United States. Shawn has worked in the industry since 2007. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Shawn was a Vice President in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at Wells Fargo in New York. During his tenure with Wells Fargo, Shawn was involved in the origination, structuring and closing of more than $7.5 billion of financings across multiple property types and various loan structures. Prior to that, Shawn worked on urban planning strategies for an economic development firm in North Carolina. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
