Joel Pecoy

Joel Pecoy is a member of Barings Real Estate Team, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Joel is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Real Estate Debt Asset Management, leading a team of seasoned asset managers, overseeing all debt investments across the US. Joel is also a member of the U.S. Real Estate Debt Investment Committee. Prior to joining Barings, Joel served as Head of U.S. Real Estate Debt Asset Management at Ares, responsible for the oversight of all debt investments. Joel was a member of Investment Committee and also led the Special Servicing platform. Prior to that role, Joel was the Senior Vice President - Head of Asset Management for UC Funds, overseeing a book of high yield loan investments and an opportunistic REO book. Joel is a Veteran of the Unites States Navy where he served aboard the USS Ross. He holds a B.A. in Business from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
