Shawn Kimble

Shawn Kimble is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Shawn is a Managing Director and Head of U.S. & European Capital Markets and Business Strategy, responsible for oversight of capital markets, research and strategy, valuation and non-linear growth activities for the U.S. and European real estate platforms. He is a member of the Investment Committees for U.S. Debt, Equity and Affordable Housing and serves as a member of the Valuation Committees for U.S. Debt and Equity.

Prior to this position, Shawn was the COO for U.S. Real Estate, and was previously Head of U.S. Real Estate Capital Markets where he was responsible for a $9 billion debt portfolio comprised of asset and fund leverage. Shawn also previously served as an acquisitions officer responsible for sourcing and executing real estate equity investments and joint venture developments. Shawn has worked in the industry since 2007. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Shawn was a Vice President in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at Wells Fargo in New York, where he was involved in the origination, structuring and closing of more than $7.5 billion of transactions.

Shawn is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM). He is also a member of the Advisory Boards of the Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Childress Klein Center for Real Estate at UNC Charlotte. Shawn holds a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
