Darren Hutchinson

Darren Hutchinson is a member of Barings Alternative Investments, a global real estate, private equity and real assets platform. Darren is a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Acquisitions—U.K. and specializes in Central London for a North American separate account client as well as having a wider U.K. remit for two balanced separate account mandates. Darren has worked in the industry since 1994 and his experience has encompassed fund management, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions and development across the core property sectors of office, retail and industrial. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Darren worked for Protego Real Estate Investors LLP before its acquisition by the firm in January 2010. Prior to that, Darren was an Associate at Cushman & Wakefield Investors, responsible for two separate account mandates. Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, he was with Liverpool Victoria AM where he was part of a team managing assets and had direct responsibility for the retail portfolio and regional office investments. He has also previously worked for CBRE and English Partnerships, a government funded development agency.  He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Investment Property Forum and is a FCA approved person (CF30) under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
